What a great week we had lots going on this week!! We definitely were busy! So unfortunately we didn't get to have a baptism yesterday): we weren't able to contact him for the interview and final lesson in time but we finally did get a hold of him and we were able to meet with him yesterday and make sure all was good.     He still wants to be baptized and has a desire to follow Christ so that's super awesome. We have him on date for this Saturday and cant wait for him. He still came to church yesterday so that was awesome to see.     Alright so where to begin... this week we were trying to find a new person to teach and one night we felt to go visit this referral. We knocked and they were super friendly. They let us in and we sat down and started talking. It was a girl about late 20s and her mom and the night before her and her mom were talking about God and Christ. They had some questions and were wondering some things and they prayed together asking for answers. We...

First Week In The Mission Field

Image
Hello everybody!! Man has this week gone by fast we have been going to work each day till we got to go home. It definitely has gone by fast but it's been an amazing experience so far. I'm in a biking area so one of the first things we did was go get a bike and the biking has been crazy especially in a suit. But other than that my trainer has been training me well we've been doing lots with the members which has been awesome. We also have someone on date for baptism on November 25th and are super excited for him. He is from the Congo and is super strong and has been coming to church for seven Sundays which is crazy awesome. We are trying to meet with him one last time to set up the interview for his baptism so he can be all set for Sunday. We can't wait to meet him and see his spiritual growth continue as he is so close to being baptized. We've already had some crazy experiences. One night as we were heading over to contact a referral it was in this apartment area wi...

Text From A Member

Image
Got a text last night from a member in Jaxons mission     They said the following : Having fun with your missionary sons! They just delivered a great message on Christ. Only 3 days out for Elder May and he's already delivering sermons with the power of King Benjamin!     Only 6 months out for Elder Kennedy and he's already training with the power of Captain Moroni!     I mean technology people!! So blessed.     Now when you see the LDS missionaries in your town remember they’ve left their homes and families to share a message of Christs love. Honk or wave, tell them they’re awesome because they are. No matter what your beliefs are because someone somewhere misses them dearly.     I’m so thankful for these boys incredible example. I want to be better because of them!

Arrived Safely In Salt Lake City

Image
Elder May arrived safely to the mission home yesterday Nov 13 in Salt Lake City. They all took the train and in Jaxons words it was a bit sketchy. Haha. We are looking forward to his adventures!     He’s featured here with the missionaries from the MTC heading to the Salt Lake City mission, I’m so glad they all traveled together!     President and Sister Hillier     I believe they are at the monument at This is the Place Heritage Park near down town Salt Lake City. I didn’t get details just the pics!     Elder May and Elder Kennedy- assuming Elder Kennedy is Jaxon’s trainer.

Heading Out In Three Days

Image
Time has just gone away in an instant I'm already heading out of here in three days. That's just so crazy to me it feels like yesterday I was just meeting my companion. So far so good though I've loved my time here at the MTC the people I've met have been wonderful and I've certainly learned a lot and I just hope that I'm ready for the real world. I cant wait to get out though and see how I do. One thing I'm particularly excited about is to have my first home cooked meal. The food here is mediocre at best so a home cooked meal would be wonderful right now. We got to go to the temple today and it was another great day. I love the temple it is so beautiful and breathtaking as it backs on to the mountains. Every morning i get to see them so I absolutely love that. Pretty basic week this week did more teaching and we as a companionship have definitely gotten better. Out last one went super well and it has gotten me super excited to get out to the field. Cant wai...
