Wyoming

Man I can't believe it's already Monday again and that I get to email you guys which is super exciting though! I'll be sure to give you all the details on this wonderful new area!

 

 

SO Wyoming is a pretty big part of the mission and only has a few areas in it. It is covered by about 16 missionaries and some of them are up to 2 hours away from each other. For us the nearest missionaries are like an hour away so we hardly ever see other missionaries unlike in Salt Lake where we run into alot of other missionaries especially on pdays! 

 

 

Everyone is at Walmart so we saw them then but out here we don't even have a Walmart. We have like a little place called Riddleys that we get to shop at. We also go to the JC Penny that's out here. It was the first store ever so that's super cool. I found alot of good stuff today so I may or may not have spent a penny or two on some clothes...

 

 

This past week has been pretty busy you'd never guess what happened all week.. Yea it just snowed and rained and snowed again. None of it stuck thankfully but still it was just cold and wet all week. BUT now itll be good cause today has been pretty warm now so that's been a great blessing. We are so high up in Wyoming like in elevation that the soon just roasts us when we are out walking. So I got a bucket hat to keep the sun off. It definitely has helped haha and will be good this coming week with the sun out now.

 

 

Lots of this week has been going around and talking to people. Getting to know them and finding people that we are able to teach! There are alot of people who are members out here but at the same time there are alot of people who are Catholic so it's either one or the other mostly. So it has been a challenge to find people to teach but that's okay we are working hard and know that the Lord will bless us and put people in our paths.

 

 

There are some certain people that we are excited for. Lisa being one of them really wants to get baptized. She's been taught everything and just needs to have some time to get baptized. She works crazy hours and is trying to move so it's kinda been super hectic with her. Just been praying for her and hoping everything works out. There are a few other people who have lots of potential they just have some hurdles to get over so we've been working to be able to help them get over them.

 

 

We also were able to help out in the Ranch again this week which was lots of fun. We didn't brand anymore cattle but we helped feed them all and sort some sheep it was pretty good. Definitely a special missionary experience for sure. Not everyone in the mission can say theyve branded cattle and feed the sheep's haha.

 

 

Every Friday we take a road trip to our little towns we cover to teach and talk to everyone out there which is pretty fun. We can only go once a week just because we only get so many miles. Lots of the day can be driving so it's lots different. Something real cool we do put here is Evey Thursday is COOKIE DAY! it's a great day were we go out and hand out cookies to the people of Kemmerer. It's a really great way to get into the door with people and talk with them. Even just to get to know the people out here.

 

 

Nothing to big coming up other than a big missionary fireside this Saturday which is something that I am looking forward too. It's gonna be the whole mission so we will be able to see some past companions. We also are gonna have an apostle come and speak to us so that's gonna be so cool. Anyway it'll be a busy week and I'll let you know how the fire side goes next week.

Scavenger Hunt

This was another great week here in Kemmerer Wyoming! We've been real busy all week. Tina is on date for this Saturday and man we are super excited. We spent some good time teaching and talking with her this week. She's way excited to which is super cool. It'll be a great week getting all that organized and ready. So that'll be keeping us busy this week.     We had a really cool activity on Wednesday with the youth! We all did a big service scavenger hunt around the area. It was lots of fun. We got to know more of the people around and just help people out. We even got to know some of the youth which was great.      We really are trying to work with them and help them prepare for missions! Let's see we also had some really good lessons with Diana. She is doing amazing. She really has just grown to love the Gospel and she is super ready for the 24th! We even have started to teach her Granddaughter who is interested in learning more. What A Week!

It was Christmas of course and I hope you all had a great Christmas I know j did(: The calls home were good and also all your Christmas greetings were greatly appreciated thank you(:     We had all our appointments fall through on the night of Christmas which I mean hey to be expected I guess. No worries there though we kept on working and are seeing the blessings there from that. We had to push our baptisms from last Saturday to this Saturday since there was lots of stress and such happening in the family. We want their baptism to be a stress free and good experience so we are excited for them this week.     We also picked up a new person who us really progressing. Its actually Yedis friend!! Yedi our recent convert has been telling is good friend about this amazing gospel. We went over to teach her and she is so amazing. Her name is Joslyn and she is so ready. She is very receptive to our lessons and is on date for baptism on the 26th of January!! We are so excited...

Quarantine Life

Hey Everyone hope you're staying safe and healthy! This virus certainly has taken the world by surprise but have no fear The Prophet of God is here!!     I love President Russell M. Nelson he is truly our Prophet here on the earth. This past week we had the amazing opportunity to hear from him and many other of the apostles of the church in General Conference. It was amazing we got to learn alot about the Restoration of the Gospel. Being the bicentennial of Joseph Smiths First Vision and really the Church being restored on the earth!
