Elder Quentin L. Cook

Man it is yet another PDay which is crazy I can't believe it. But I love the opportunity to get to email you all!!

 

 

So this week has been pretty crazy busy lots happened this week for sure. Especially Thursday through Sunday it was crazy. Thursday we had lots of people to go out and contact and try and talk to. At the same time later that day we had to out and drive to the cabin and talk to the people in and around that area. So that trip made for a fun time we got back from going out and talking with people and realized that we didn't have anything packed... Classic may move haha so we hustled to get everything together and out the door so we could get to the cabin on time and not to late. We made it thankfully.

 

 

Friday was awesome because we got to really focus on the area that we don't normally get to spend time in so we went around and talked with everyone. There was a family that used to live in a house in the main area and we went to go knock on the door but it was totally empty. We were like man that was sucks and then all the sudden BOOM some lady pulled up and knew the family that used to live there. It was great they told us they moved to a smaller town that's about 15 minutes out that we covered and she didn't know exactly where she lived... So the search began. We got in contact with another family that knew the Robinsons (who we were looking for) and out here they don't give you street addresses it's all land marks. These are the directions we got...

 

 

@ Bend to Evanston go straight, end of pavement there is houses, 2nd or 3rd but pretty sure its the 3rd

 

 

So we did as we were told and drove down what was a empty road and then boom we found houses it was hilarious. So we then started knocking doors and we finally found them!! It was awesome and definitely an adventure. So that was Friday. We also had a BOMB lesson with a family we are teaching. It was so great and spirit filled so that was an amazing experience and one I definitely will remember. We are super excited for them and are really praying that they are able to find what they are looking for. Hopefully they will be on date soon. They are the Johnson Family(:

 

 

SATURDAY WAS AWESOME! We had a missionary fireside down in Salt lake so we made our journey down there. At the mission wide fireside we had an apostle come and talk with us. Elder Quentin L. Cook was there and he was amazing. He talked to us about the work and such. We even got to hear from his wife which was way cool! We had a few other speakers as well. It was great I definitely learned lots and am excited to apply it in the area. 

 

After our fireside we had to get some dinner so we ventured over to the local chick-fil-a and got some food. Then we started in the journey home. It's a decent drive and the good thing is we made it safe!

 

 

Sunday was cool cause we got to teach mission prep and that was about it. Church was great and we had some people we are teaching come to church!! That's always so exciting and nice to see.

 

 

Overall great week we go on exchanges with the other elders tonight we we got a bit of a drive ahead of us tonight.

Scavenger Hunt

This was another great week here in Kemmerer Wyoming! We've been real busy all week. Tina is on date for this Saturday and man we are super excited. We spent some good time teaching and talking with her this week. She's way excited to which is super cool. It'll be a great week getting all that organized and ready. So that'll be keeping us busy this week.     We had a really cool activity on Wednesday with the youth! We all did a big service scavenger hunt around the area. It was lots of fun. We got to know more of the people around and just help people out. We even got to know some of the youth which was great.      We really are trying to work with them and help them prepare for missions! Let's see we also had some really good lessons with Diana. She is doing amazing. She really has just grown to love the Gospel and she is super ready for the 24th! We even have started to teach her Granddaughter who is interested in learning more. What A Week!

It was Christmas of course and I hope you all had a great Christmas I know j did(: The calls home were good and also all your Christmas greetings were greatly appreciated thank you(:     We had all our appointments fall through on the night of Christmas which I mean hey to be expected I guess. No worries there though we kept on working and are seeing the blessings there from that. We had to push our baptisms from last Saturday to this Saturday since there was lots of stress and such happening in the family. We want their baptism to be a stress free and good experience so we are excited for them this week.     We also picked up a new person who us really progressing. Its actually Yedis friend!! Yedi our recent convert has been telling is good friend about this amazing gospel. We went over to teach her and she is so amazing. Her name is Joslyn and she is so ready. She is very receptive to our lessons and is on date for baptism on the 26th of January!! We are so excited...

Quarantine Life

Hey Everyone hope you're staying safe and healthy! This virus certainly has taken the world by surprise but have no fear The Prophet of God is here!!     I love President Russell M. Nelson he is truly our Prophet here on the earth. This past week we had the amazing opportunity to hear from him and many other of the apostles of the church in General Conference. It was amazing we got to learn alot about the Restoration of the Gospel. Being the bicentennial of Joseph Smiths First Vision and really the Church being restored on the earth!
