Docking
What a week it has been so much has happened especially in the last few days which has been great and way exciting!
We did exchanges this week with the elders over in Pinedale which was way fun. What that looked like was we drove a good hour and a half out of our area and met up with the other elders and then went over to their area. We worked and stayed the night Tuesday and then worked some more Wednesday. It was lots of fun to be with some other elders for once and a long while so that was great. Rest of Wednesday was just driving back home which is always a blast.
Friday we went out to one of the small towns we cover called Randolph to do some work over there. We got there and stayed then night and then Saturday was when it got way crazy. So we stay on a ranch which is always cool but the people who let us stay always ask us to help out around the ranch so this is where the title comes into play. So at first they asked us. To assemble a tree swing for them which was a piece of cake but then we got asked to do something called docking... At the time I didn't know what that totally meant so I just went with it. What I shortly found out was that docking is basically branding except for the Lambs and it is done a little differently. But long story short it gets REALLY messy. Like they clip the ears to make and differentiate between the Lambs and this happens while we hold them. So we get covered in blood... Yea it was gross. But that's what we were doing so I just got right in there and did it. In the end I would never wanna do that again that's for sure. But it was a great experience I guess I now know that I am never ever going to be a rancher...
But that was the beginning of Saturday. Later we had a lesson with Elise Johnson and her family and it was another great lesson!! It was way cool and it was just ah. The spirit was so strong and it was just great. At the end we invited them to come to church and Elsie looked at us and asked "are you guys coming to church" we had planed on going back to Kemmerer that night but we said if you'll be there we will be and so we made the deal. Set up a last. Minute place to stay and we were good. So Sunday roles around and we head over to church and the first thing we see when we walk in is her and her family!!! AHH it was just way awesome it just made my week. Church was great and they had a real good experience. We then talked with them after and baptisms is something they are thinking about and really considering so that was just icing on the cake.
So what was a two day trip turned into a three day trip but it was totally worth every minute. Then the rest of sunday was just great and we even were able to find some new people to teach in the last few days as well. Then today out here in the US of A it is memorial day and so we ran into a family at the store and they invited us to come over for lunch and so we did. They are from Ukraine and lunch was AMAZING! Got to try some Ukraine food and just be with their family. They have a big one so it was a kinda crazy meal but it was great I loved every moment of it.
But that's been the week! Hope you all are doing well and I hope you enjoy your week!
